Places to explore around Bath

I’ve recently moved to Bath so whilst I’m also sussing out the local countryside, I thought I’d share my favourite places & walks with you. It’s a work-in-progress as I’m still new, but here are my recommendations so far…

Little Solsbury Hill

Located just North West of Batheaston, this little hill has breathtaking views across Bath and beyond. Especially gorgeous at sunrise and sunset, this is a must-see! You can park on the side of the road here: BA1 7JQ which takes out a lot of the incline or you can park in Batheaston or Swainswick and walk up. The hill itself is flat-topped so it’s very easy going and only takes approx 15 mins to walk around it.

Kelston Roundhill

Located just West of Weston, this is another beautiful hill to be explored. You can either park at Lansdown Park & Ride and begin the walk from this viewpoint before heading over to the hill, or you can make a day of it and park at The Old Crown in Kelston or Bath Soft Cheese, walk up the hill and then back for a Sunday roast! The trail from Bath city centre follows the Cotswold Way so there are plenty of options for a great walk.
