Campsites in the UK

I purchased a Tentbox last summer so I’ve been checking out some campsites - here are a few of my faves so far…

  1. White Peak Campsite - Peak District

A rural quiet campsite located on a working farm between Bakewell and Buxton. We stayed here during a back-holiday weekend and it was still so peaceful and never felt overcrowded. The toilets were cleaned daily but just note, there are no showers at the campsite. I recommend pitching up near the wall at the back end of the campsite (opposite the main entrance) because the ground is more level and you can often wake up to see a beautiful mist over the valley. *Dogs on leads due to being on a working farm.

2. Brecon Beacons Wild Camping

It’s back to basics with this campsite. Situated at the foothills of Pen Y Fan, this is an ideal spot for hiking. The only facilities they offer are portaloos which (when busy & hot) can be unpleasant. You can pitch up whenever and don’t even need to book which is great for last-minute getaways. This is by far the cheapest campsite I’ve stayed at and we really enjoyed it.

3. South Dean Camping - Devon

This one is probably my favourite campsite I’ve ever stayed at. Located in North Devon near Combe Martin, this campsite is just a stones throw (literally) from the South West Coast Path. With unspoilt views of the sea and a perfect spot to watch the sunset, this really doesn't get any better. Out of peak season, this campsite it really quiet, and if you pitch up early enough, you are guaranteed a front row spot.
